Advice and Assistance

*The total number of Orders for Recovery issued only includes vehicles registered inthe UK, as we are unable to register debts for non-UK vehicles.

When a road user uses the Crossing but does not pay the appropriate road user charge (RUC) by midnight the following day, we will issue a PCN requesting payment of £70 (plus the appropriate RUC) within 28 days (note, this is reduced to£35 for the first 14 days). Should the PCN remain unpaid, we will issue a charge certificate and the sum owed will increase to £105 (plus RUC).

If the road user fails to respond to the charge certificate the debt will be referred tothe Traffic Enforcement Centre (Northampton County Court) and a registration fee(currently £10) will be added to the amount due. This results in an order for recoverybeing issued.
