Under the Freedom of Information act I ask for the following information;
How many vehicles have been found to have been guilty of infringing the average speed rules and what is the revenue raised from fines incurred from those infringements during the period since being installed on the average 50 mph A47 highway as quoted above.
Response
I can confirm that in accordance with Section 1(1)(a) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, National Highways does not hold the information that you requested. National Highways may implement reduced speed limits for a variety of reasons, to ensure the safe operation of the strategic road network for our workforce and road users.
However National Highways is not an enforcement or prosecution authority. The police are responsible for enforcing the speed limits we set and we believe that the information you have requested may be held by the relevant regional Police force. If you have not already done so, you may wish to contact them.
