Grant Period:
From 17 November 2025 to 1 March 2027.
Project scope:
Creation of digital radio coverage from Stilton on the A1 in the North to Sandy on the A1 in the south and along the A421 from Kempston in the West to Cambourne on the A428 in the East; from Thrapston on the A14 to the Girton interchange.
Objectives:
1. Launch digital radio transmission infrastructure by Autumn 2026.
2. Conduct listener surveys to measure satisfaction with new content diversity.
3. Co-ordinate local news and journalists for each major area covered.
4. Create dedicated weekly programme focusing on community stories and events in new corridors.
Outputs:
1. Installed digital radio transmitters and infrastructure in targeted areas. 2. A documented coverage map showing expanded DAB/DAB+ reach.
3. Public awareness campaigns or materials about how to access digital radio.
4. Content partnerships with local groups, independent producers, and/or underrepresented communities.
5. Broadcast or podcast recordings highlighting stories and voices from new corridor areas.
6. Broader reaching News, Travel, WhatsOn events calendar and community group information.
